Obama School Speech… Indoctrination?

Look, my kids had to suffer through Bush’s rhetoric for EIGHT FRIGGING YEARS. Get over it. And to the woman who commented on Channel 3’s website that she’s concerned that Obama is trying to get kids to pledge allegience to him and not “our God”… honey, you might wanna familiarize yourself with what your kids say first thing every morning at school.

President Obama’s speech on the day many kids start classes this year will urge students to be responsible and stay in school. But some conservatives are up in arms over what they see as an attempt to spread Obama’s “socialist ideology,” as Florida GOP chairman Jim Greer put it. There’s even an online movement encouraging parents to protest by calling in to work sick and keeping their children home from school on Sept. 8.

The Point: Obama School Speech Indoctrination

What happened to “Ask what you can do for your country?”

The only thing right-wingers have is fear, hatred, and lies. It’s sad there are so many of them in our country.

Thank you for blogging about this.
I have been shocked at this. Why are we constantly hearing about extreme people? Where are the mass of logical thinking people? They are out there, right? What kind of message are you giving to your children when they are yanked out of school so they can’t hear our President encourage them to stay in school and do your best.

Look, we all knew that electing this President was going to come with a rough transition for our country. I thought the fringe was really out on the fringe. I am saddened to realized they are sitting next to us everyday. They are screaming ‘I want my America back!” Um, no. It’s going to be my America now. I have higher standards.

It is frightening how INSANE people are. Okay, you don’t like the health care plan being proposed, propose something better, but WHEN THE HELL did the president urging kids to stay in school become a BAD thing?

The only thing I can say is the nutjobs roots are showing. They are going to keep pushing sane people further and further away.

Isn’t this the biggest bunch of foolishness you ever heard in your life? I almost cursed but I didn’t want your kids to hear such foul language. I can only hope that in whatever school these peoples’ children are in, they learn not to be the nitwits their parents are.

I’m surprised right-wingers haven’t started pledging allegiance to Glenn Beck. It seems that they have elevated him to god status.
